Semiya Upma Uses Rice Vermicelli

Semiya Upma uses rice vermicelli as the main pasta for the dish. It’s a popular South Indian breakfast. It’s easy to prepare this healthy meal for vegetarians.

Rice vermicelli is in bite-sized length and quarterly cooked before mixing with the ingredients and spices. You probably only need a fork or spoon as the utensil.

Any green vegetables like diced carrot, green pea, chopped onions and capsicums are added on top of the common spices.

There are no mouth-burning spices. Simple ones like cumin seeds, curry leaves, Chana dal, ginger and green chilli. These common spices bring a unique taste to the mix.
