Methi Paneer: A Nutritious Delight Bursting with Flavor

Methi Paneer is a wholesome and delicious dish that combines soft paneer cubes with the slightly bitter yet aromatic flavor of fresh fenugreek leaves (methi). This nutritious recipe is a perfect blend of taste and health, making it a popular choice for weekday meals or special occasions. Ingredients

- Paneer (cottage cheese) - 250 grams, cubed

- Fresh Methi Leaves - 1 cup, finely chopped

- Tomatoes - 2 large, pureed

- Garlic - 5-6 cloves, minced

- Ginger - 1-inch piece, minced

- Green Chilies - 2, chopped

- Cumin Seeds - 1 teaspoon

- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 teaspoon

- Coriander Powder - 1 teaspoon

- Cumin Powder - 1 teaspoon

- Red Chili Powder - 1 teaspoon

- Garam Masala - 1/2 teaspoon

- Oil - 2 tablespoons

- Salt - to taste

- Fresh Cream - 2 tablespoons

- Fresh Coriander Leaves - for garnish

Instructions

1. Preparation:

- Wash the methi leaves thoroughly, chop them finely, and keep aside.

2. SautΓ©ing Paneer:

- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan.

- Add the paneer cubes and lightly fry until they turn golden brown. Remove them and place them on a plate.

3. Making the Gravy:

- In the same pan, heat the remaining oil.

- Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

- Add finely chopped onions and sautΓ© until they turn golden brown.

- Add minced garlic, ginger, and green chilies. SautΓ© for a few more minutes.

- Add tomato puree and cook until the oil starts to separate from the mixture.

- Mix in the turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and red chili powder. Cook for a few minutes.

4. Adding Methi:

- Add the finely chopped methi leaves and cook until they wilt and blend into the gravy.

5. Final Steps:

- Add the lightly fried paneer cubes to the gravy.

- Add garam masala and salt to taste.

- Stir in the fresh cream and mix well. Let it simmer on low heat for about 3-4 minutes until the gravy thickens.

6. Garnish:

- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
